17th century, Napoleon III style marquetry and veneer cabinet, on the manner of ébéniste André-Charles Boulle, with one drawer, one door and veined marble top and fine ormolu fittings. The cabinet is raised on a plinth base.

The central door is decorated with a panel of marquetry showing the cockerel of France standing triumphant over the lion of Spain and the eagle of the Holy Roman Empire.

This design of marquetry is copied from the important cabinet on stand ca. 1680, attributed to Andre-Charles Boulle.
