A Transitional Louis XV-XVI style Second Empire (Napoleon III) ormolu-mounted commode inlaid with marquetry and parquetry of rosewood, satinwood, amaranth and painted wood inlays, after the model by Jean-Henri Riesener, Circa 1880. The breakfront white marble top above a conforming moulded cornice and three frieze drawers, above a pair of large deep drawers inlaid sans traverse with a central foliate and musical trophy, flanked by lattice and patera-decorated panels, the sides with similar panels, the angles with acanthus-cast volutes, on scrolled acanthus feet.
